Stephanie Van Hover

Stephanie van Hover, Ph.D., is a professor of social studies education at the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development. A former middle school social studies teacher, she teaches and advises students in the secondary social studies teacher education program. Her research explores teaching, learning and assessment of secondary history in standards-based settings. She is currently serving as the chair of the Department of Curriculum, Instruction & Special Education.
